Let’s put on our capes and discover our superpowers as we search for an answer to the question, ‘What is a superhero?’ This half term, we’ll describe our favourite superheroes, create our own hero, write a diary of 'a day in the life of...' and write our own stories. Learning about real-life heroes from organisations such as the police and and from the past, including Florence Nightingale, Emmeline Pankhurst, Louis Pastuer and Alexander Fleming. This will allow us to appreciate human bravery and how people have shaped our modern world. We will discover which materials would be best when designing a superhero outfit. We’ll also test our superpowers by climbing, running, jumping and moving to music. There’ll be opportunities for us to create superhero works of art, through exploring the world of pop art and Andy Warhol's creations.
