Just a reminder that it is really important that you continue to read and practise the times tables every day. I know this is not always in the table but this must be done daily.

LI: To be able to read pie charts. 


Write the date, Roman numeral date and the LI in your maths home learning book (or on paper if you do not have a home learning pack).


Today, you will be learning about how to read and interpret pie charts.


There is a PowerPoint in the resource section for you to have a practise.



Complete 1 worksheet from pack A and 1 worksheet from pack B.

Write the long date and LI in your home learning book (or on paper).


Today, you will be answering questions based on chapters 2 and 3 of Kensuke’s Kingdom. If you haven’t read it yet, you will find the chapters in the class novel section.


Answer the questions in full sentences

Chapter 2

1. What did Michael do during the day on the Peggy Sue?

2. Who was always idle on the Peggy Sue?

3. How did Stella comfort the individual members of the family?

4. What did Michael do when he was on watch at night?

5. Would you like to live on a boat? How do you think your life would be different?

6. What format does Michael Morpurgo use to tell the story from Chapter 3 onwards?


Chapter 3

1. How many miles per day did the family travel?

2. Describe what happened to the family when they reached the Bay of Biscay?

3. Why was Michael so excited to visit Brazil?

4. Describe how the family spent Christmas day?

5. Describe the events of February 7th.

Today, I would like you to create a stained glass effect picture with the theme of ‘The Lord’s Prayer’.


Make sure you don’t use too much dark colour as next week you will be writing The Lord’s Prayer over the top.


There is a PowerPoint for you to have a look at some examples.  






Practise this week’s spellings in your spelling book or your literacy home learning book.


Remember the spelling test will be on the Monday after half term!
