Friday 27th March 2020

Hello Turing Class!

It’s Friday! That means one more day of online learning this week.

See the table below for today’s learning.

Remember it is really important that you also spend some time reading and practising times tables every day.

Just a reminder that if you don’t have a home learning pack you will need to complete the work in your own notebook or on paper. If you don’t have any paper you could do the learning on a laptop or computer. If you are doing the work on individual pieces of paper make sure you keep it altogether so you are organised.

Remember to email me on turing.woodhouses@gmail.com if you have any learning-related questions. It would also be nice to see photos of your learning.

Today’s PE is for you take part in the PE with Joe. You can do this at 9am when Joe Wicks is live on his YouTube channel or you can do it later by clicking on today’s PE lesson video. I will be joining in live at 9am 

I hope you’re all safe and well. I miss you all!

Maths

LI: To solve decimal multiplication problems.

Write the date, Roman numeral date and the LI in your maths home learning book (or on paper if you do not have a home learning pack).

Today, you will be focusing on solving word problems linked to multiplying decimals.

Make sure you read each question carefully before you start the calculation.

I will be putting examples of how to complete the calculations in the resource section to help you.

Complete at least one of the worksheets.

Literacy

LI: To understand active and passive voice.

Write the long date and LI in your home learning book (or on paper).

Today, you are going to learn about active and passive voice.

In an active sentence, the subject does something to the object.

Example

Chris kicked the ball.

Subject – Chris

Verb – kicked

Object – ball

In a passive sentence, the object is having something done to it.

Example

The ball was kicked by Chris.

Subject – Chris

Verb – kicked

Object – ball

Using your English SATs Revision Book, turn to the page which is all about Active and Passive and revise this page (there is also a photo of this page in the resource section).

You can also revise active and passive voice by watching the following link on YouTube -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dMa-y24nw4

Once you have revised, complete the worksheet found in the resource section in your books.

RE

LI: To understand the Easter Story.

Turn to the back of your literacy home learning book and write the long date and LI.

Today, you are going to learn about the story of Easter.

Read through ‘The Easter Story’ PowerPoint very carefully.

Once you have read the story, split the story into six main parts.

Your activity today is to create a storyboard for the six main parts using words and drawings for ‘The Easter Story’.

I have put a few examples of how you can lay it out in your book. You can choose one of these or make up your own layout. Remember one part of the story to one box (you should have six boxes in total). Add some colour if you wish 
