Literacy

Monday 30th March

Spend some time looking at the picture. What can you see? What do you think it would be like to be there? Have a go at writing a description of what you would see if you visited 'Animal Town'.

Remember to use correct punctuation.

Aim to use a range of sentence openers.

Try and use some ambitious vocabulary.

Please email us your writing so that we can display it on the website to share with your class mates.

Week beginning 23.3.20

In literacy this week I would like you to start a daily diary, this will be wonderful to look back on in years to come.

In addition to this, I would like you to find out about a member of your family who you might not know very much about.  Ring grandparents, aunties, uncles etc. Below are some suggested question but I am sure you will think of lots more yourself.

  • What job did they do?
  • Who were their parents?
  • Did they have siblings?
  • Any hobbies?
  • Favourite food?

Please continue to keep a daily diary documenting your time off school.  What has been your favourite part about the day?  How are you feeling? This will be great to look back on in years to come.

As part of your literacy on Monday, I asked you to find out all about a chosen family member.  If you haven’t yet managed to make some phone calls or send some emails to gather the information then please do so.

With the information you have, I would like you this week to write a biography about your chosen family member. Before you start writing, look at the powerpoint in the resources section and some example texts.  Unpick the text, which features can you spot?  This task should last you the week.  Remember to edit your work!  I have also added a help mat for you to check your writing.

It would be lovely to see your finished writing, so please email me (if you can) once you have finished!
