Monday 25th January
We are going to start the new week in Maths by using bar models to represent word problems.
During this lesson we will explore the most appropriate bar-models to answer different types of multiplication and division questions.
Click on the link below and we will begin by looking at how to recognise multiplication and division questions. We will then match bar models to questions and explore what different bar models show.
Have a go at completing the tasks. There are 2 parts of the task for you to complete each asking you to practice what we have learnt.
Today, we are going to write our newspaper article about an event that you were involved in.
Watch the video to remind yourself of the key features of a newspaper report:
Use your plan from yesterday to help you to write your article. Don't forget to include a headline, introduction, writing paragraphs in columns, interviews with people involved and a concluding sentence
How many of the features of a good newspaper article from the checklist below can you include in your article?
Use the Newspaper article template below to write your newspaper article. Don't forget to include the features of a good newspaper report
This week is the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch so I would like you to read the 2 star 'Garden birds' non fiction text. Read the text carefully and answer the questions. Remember - some questions will ask for answers from the text while others will ask for predictions or about how you feel towards the text.
