We are looking forward to sharing some fantastic learning about our Local History. Children will be learning what listed buildings we have around us, and why they should be preserved. We are also hoping to visit some of these important sites during the term.
We will be learning more about Ben Brierley and visiting his birthplace (Prima Pizza!!!) as well as the Old Failsworth Town Hall, which is now the library.
Year 3 are learning about Light and have already learnt that the moon is not a light source, which was a real surprise to them. Year 4 are learning about animals and their habitats.
Just a reminder that year 4 will be taking the Government times tables test in June, so please practise regularly with them, to help their confidence, and recall speed. There is a practise test on www.timestables.co.uk that you can access free with your child. This also has practise activities and games for any tables that your child may be struggling with. there will be questions on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 times tables.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
