Small School, Big Ideas

Year 4

Please ensure you are reading most nights for at least 10 minutes. This is so important and this will help your learning so much. Although we can't send home reading diaries, you should now have a 'Reading Around the World' log. Please send these back into school each Friday. New sheets will be issued every Friday.

Please try and log into Bug Club at least once a week. Please ask if you are unsure of your log ins or are having any issues.

Each week, the children will have a spelling list to practise at home based on the spelling rules they are learning in school. This will be uploaded here each week.  We will complete an informal test every Thursday. We will not be using spelling books at this current time.

Spelling Revision - spend a little time revisiting spelling lists from earlier in the year

Spellings for Thursday 7th January

Spelling Shed

Spend a little time practising your Year 3/4 Statutory word list on Spelling Shed. Aim to do around 10 minutes 3x per week.

Spend some time learning the related division facts for the four and six times tables. If you feel confident, try some other division facts.

Try and spend a little time each week reading over your knowledge organiser for the term. This will help you learn key facts and vocab. Focus on one or two sections each week.

For Spring 1, we will be learning about States of Matter. The knowledge organiser is attached.

It is always good to revise previous learning by looking at the previous knowledge organiser to refresh your memory.
